Nacham Africa and Badec Caritas Ngozi Raise Mental Health Awareness Across Ngozi Province

 / November 07,2025

As part of their ongoing commitment to promoting mental well-being in Burundi, Nacham Africa and Badec Caritas Ngozi, both partners of the King Baudoin Foundation, conducted a series of mental health awareness sessions across Ngozi Province.
These sessions were organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and its National Integrated Program for the Fight Against Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases. The initiative took place in three key locations: Kiremba Hospital, Musasa Health Center, and Gatsinda Health Center, where Badec Caritas Ngozi operates.
The campaign aimed to educate local communities about mental health challenges, reduce stigma, and encourage people to seek psychological support when needed. As part of the activities, Nacham Africa presented an interactive play depicting the realities faced by people living with mental illness and the transformative impact of community support and treatment.
Through open discussions and engaging activities, participants were able to share their experiences, ask questions, and learn practical ways to support those struggling with mental health issues.
This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration among organizations working in the mental health field in Burundi and reflects a shared vision of building a more inclusive and understanding society.
Both Nacham Africa and Badec Caritas Ngozi reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together to expand access to mental health education and care across the country.
