Mental Health Awareness Campaign Reaches Rwibaga Communities

 / April 17,2026

Across the communities of Rwibaga District, Nacham Africa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, conducted a mental health awareness campaign from April 14th to 16th.

Through visits to Nyabiraba, Kigina, and Rwibaga markets, we engaged with more than 1,700 community members. The campaign featured a powerful theatre performance portraying trauma related to grief and abuse, and its link to mental health conditions.

The play sparked meaningful conversations and questions around how to address abuse, reduce stigma surrounding mental illness, and support one another in improving mental well-being. During the three-day campaign, a representative from the Ministry of Health also shared ongoing government efforts aimed at improving the lives of people living with mental health conditions.

Together, we continue to raise awareness, break stigma, and build
stronger, healthier communities.
