Under the invitation of His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians, Nacham Africa was represented by our Executive Director, Armand IJIMBERE , at the King Baudouin Foundation Prize ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Brussels.

One of the most inspiring moments of the evening was witnessing the recognition of the Friendship Bench zimbambwe, the remarkable Zimbabwean organisation founded by Dr. Dixon Chibanda, for its transformative work in mental health support.

What makes the Friendship Bench approach great is its humanity, and accessibility. Through it, people come together on a simple bench to talk openly, listen to one another, and receive support within their own communities. This locally led initiative has already reached and supported more than one million people.

At Nacham Africa, we deeply admire the Friendship bench zimbabwe model and the lessons it offers to all of us working across Africa and beyond. And we extend our warm congratulations to them and Dr Dixon Chibanda. Your work continues to show the world the power of locally driven innovations.
